Knowing how to function is not the same as knowing how you want to live.

For many years, I knew how to take
responsibility, make decisions, solve problems, and keep moving. I also knew how to help other people through difficult situations.

What I understood far less clearly was what I needed myself.

Serious illness forced that question into the center of my life. Recovery answered only part of it. Being alive again did not
automatically tell me how I wanted to use that life.

The work behind No More Than This grew from that gap. It is for people who have spent years doing what was required of them and now want to examine what still feels right, what has become too costly, and what they want to choose from here.

Why I do this work

My name is Achim Zinggrebe. I am a physician, author, and someone who has lived through cancer himself.

I spent many years working in hospitals and in the development of medical therapies. Medicine taught me how to understand disease, assess evidence, and make difficult decisions under pressure.

Then I became the patient.

The experience changed more than my view of illness. It changed how I understood responsibility, strength, recovery, and the many ways people can lose sight of themselves while trying to hold everything together.

Later, I also experienced serious illness from the perspective of a close family member. That added another layer to what I had already learned: the people who care, organize, explain, and remain
dependable can disappear inside the role they are trying to fulfill.

These experiences shaped the questions I now work with. What still belongs to you? What have you accepted for too long? Which decisions reflect your own values? What would change if you took your own life as seriously as the lives of the people you care for?

How the work is built

My medical background still shapes how I work. I look for evidence, distinguish what is known from what is assumed, and take the limits of every method seriously.

Personal change requires more than information, though. It also requires honest observation, language for experiences that are difficult to name, and a structure that turns insight into decisions.

That is why this work brings several elements together:

  • Conventional medical and scientific
    understanding
  • Reflection on values, priorities, boundaries, and beliefs
  • Breathing practices, meditation, movement, and other practical tools
  • Daily and weekly structures that help people work with what they discover

Each element has a purpose. Together, they help people examine how they are living and decide what they want to change.

The books offer the first access. The journal brings continuity. Home adds selected audio material and further
resources. The future audio course will guide people through the full process
in six structured modules.

What you can expect from me

I will take your experience seriously.

I will give you clear questions, useful
structure, and practical ways to examine what is happening in your life.

I will distinguish evidence from opinion and personal experience from medical fact.

I will encourage you to make your own decisions instead of adopting somebody else’s formula.

Medical care remains medical care. Personal reflection, values, boundaries, habits, and life decisions belong to another part of the picture. My work is concerned with that part.

You remain responsible for what you choose, what you try, and what you decide to change. My role is to help you see the situation more clearly and work with it in a way that is thoughtful, realistic, and your own.

Where this can lead

You may arrive here through a book, a recommendation, a conversation, or a question that has become harder to ignore.

The first step is often simple: looking more closely at the life you are already living.

No More Than This offers 180 reflections for that examination.

The No More Than This Journal carries the work into daily life over twelve weeks.

Home gives readers access to selected audio guidance, breathing practices, reflection material, and further resources.

The future audio course will bring the full approach together in six modules.

Each part can stand on its own. Together, they form a clear progression from recognition to reflection, from reflection to decision, and from decision to daily life.
